Where does the time go?  I can’t believe it’s been since February.  There have been many completed clothing and home decor items since then and also some knitting, ripping and more knitting.  A trip to CA was a highlight of the last few months as well.  Some day, some way – I know we’ll find our way to be in California full-time.

Lunch in Sausalito on our way up to the Russian River Valley

In the mean time, I have a few Wallet to Totes (tutorial here) to make up for some friends.  Yesterday, in a manic session to use up some expiring coupons, I purchased enough cotton/linen blend fabric to back a quilt.  Now – what will the front of the quilt look like?   I’ll be keeping tabs on some of my favorites on pinterest for inspiration.  You can follow my pins here.  I may be slightly addicted to looking at everything that people are pinning, but until i can use my Iphone to search the web and pin, my pinning is relegated to me sitting in front of my computer and during the summer, that is not very likely to happen.  Hey, that might be why I haven’t been blogging – I haven’t been utilizing my WordPress app and I rarely sit myself in front of the computer these days.  (Note to self!)

I’ll be back sooner than later.

Happy New Year

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden, Vancouver, BC

Yay!  2011 has finally made an appearance.  I am so very excited for the new year to begin.  I am ready for a new perspective and want to change the way I do everything, well almost everything.  There are so many things to accomplish in this new year.  I’m going to start by writing all of the things that I want to do in the new year down.  Right in this here blog, for the whole world to see.  I’m ready to be accountable.

This year I am going to:

  • Eat better and be better to my body (yes that means running on a regular basis!)
  • Blog more (and better!)
  • Be more connected to my friends and family
  • Be more deliberate in my crafting
  • Fill my Etsy shop with wonderful items
  • Thrift more
  • Form a crafting circle with my old friends
  • Meet new friends who have common interests

My other list of to do’s this year include:

  • Make a Quilt – Hopefully queen sized!  I have never thought of myself as the quilting type, but I have seen oh so many fabulous ones out there in the blogosphere that I’m determined to make one of these pieces of art for myself.
  • Learn to embroider, well embroider better I guess.  I am going to download some sashiko patterns and running stitch my heart out until I like the results.
  • Knit a sweater from the Vogue Knitting Winter 2011 Issue – and do it while the winter is still upon us.  There are oh so many that I adore from the preview, but I think i might have to start with this one:

  • Make lots of pillow covers for our living room
  • Finish decorating our master bathroom
  • Make a table runner and placemats for our dining room
  • Take pictures of all these things and provide updates on this here blog

As for today, the mister is juicing some oranges on the new juicer I received for Christmas (what a sweetie!) and I have a hat to finish knitting.  I’m through the ribbing and am determined to knock this one out by the end of the day.  I think that’s a fitting way to spend the first day of my new year: accomplishing, completing, and being satisfied.  My only question now is, what should my next accomplishment be?  Feel free to pick something from the above list(s) or suggest something else completely!  I’d love to hear from you.

Pictures on the orange funny mohairy hat will be coming soon.

Happy 2011 Everyone!
